You know, most parents should wait. I feel it's better for the baby in the long run because you and your husband have had time to be with one another without the added pressures of childcare. Your marriage is top priority. Without a strong marriage, you run the risk of letting tension affect your parenting. Parenthood is not necessary for a happy marriage, but a happy marriage is the best setting for parenthood.

No, I don't see a need to rush in to it. My husband and I were married five and a half years when I conceived. Our marriage was not stable for a couple of years prior, so had we a child then, we all might have suffered. While there were long periods where we were nothing more than roommates who shared a bed, we were both stubborn and God rewarded our faith and brought us through, and our marriage now stronger and better. When we decided to give up the birth control and see what God had in mind, we were blessed almost immediately and now we're even stronger and closer.
Because we are 30, I don't think we're going to wait more than two years before trying for the next child and/or adopting. The time was not right for us any earlier than what it is now. We've both matured and grown closer and our marriage, our selves and our child(ren) will benefit.

It depends on how old you are now.
If you're relatively young it's Ok to wait, but the older you become the greater the risk of having a child with Downs Syndrome.
I started a family after 1 year and I don't regret it, but sometimes think I should have waited longer before getting married, not having kids.

I think that is a very good idea. You should have some time with your husband! Someone once told me: Imagine the wife and the husband sitting next to each other on a couch. When the baby comes, it sits between them, and when it grows up and leaves, and gap between the husband and the wife is still there. So i advice you to get close to your husband and feel happy about the choice you're making!

i don't see a problem with it at all if you want that time for you and your husband first. i married into 4 stepkids so my husband and i have never had that time together, even in dating, cause he has custody of the kids so they were always there :) sometimes i really wish we could have had that "normal" time..its hard not having it, thats why we try and make sure we have date nights together.

It's perfectly normal to wait. There isn't any need to rush right into having kids. Children literally do change EVERYTHING so it's nice to have some time where it's just you and your husband.

No,but once you get past 35, then your fertility decreases year by year, which would make it harder for you to get pregnant. Other than that, nothing harmful in waiting.

Aren't you alrady pregnant. Give your baby up for adotion. It's not harful to wait years in between children. My sister and My younger sister are 8 years apart.....They are fine and get along good.

I think it's wonderful.
It is good to take time to enjoy your new life with your husband. There will be plenty of time for parenting later.
