Perhaps its to prod you into taking an objective look at the reality of your own answer.
I, myself, have never asked this, but certainly the question should be put to those who serve our government in Congress and in the Senate as to exactly what their children's plans are.

do you yanks even know what being a lib actually is, i doubt it, what you call lib policy's in most other country's would be considered right wing. Its a good question why are you fighting in a country that has nothing to do with you. Do not go on about the Nazis, there is a clear difference between Iraq and a country that wanted to take over Europe. And before anyone says anything about democracy if my memory serves me correct did AL gore got more votes than mr bush. And before people go on about nuclear weapons you should be more worried about country's that do like Pakistan. As for Saddam supporting terrorists there is no proof that he has any links to terrorists unlike USA who has funded them.

Please show examples (with legitimate sources) of how the media is biased toward the "left". Show me a CNN report that calls chimpy a derogatory name. Show me a MSNBC news division (not Oberman) story that is overly critical of the Republican party. Tell me of a network news story that has openly denounced the Cheney regime. The truth is, ALL media outlets (except for the Republican owned Fox "news") are interested in ONE thing, and ONE thing only.... Profits. Since the end of the fairness doctrine, and forcing news divisions to make a profit, or be dismantled, the networks and cable giants couldn't care less about content....except on how it relates to the bottom line. The "liberal media" lie is just another stupid talking point made up by conservative Republicans to divide the country and keep idiots like chimpy in power. Keep repeating the lies sheeple.

Superpolitics, that argument is a straw man. Republican congressmen do have their children serving in Iraq.
I live in San Diego, and I know for a fact that my congressman, Duncan Hunter, has a son in Iraq. (He may be back already, he was there in 2004)
Several others do as well.

Because if you SAY that you "support the war in iraq", then why are you NOT over there actually putting your LIFE on the line and FIGHTING for what you claim to believe in?
Evidently this "support" of yours isn't very strong.
I'm a happily married heteosexual man and my wife and I support gay marriage. We don't care if some con and his boyfriend get married. Why should the government?
How is it "weak" to expect people to stand up and take action in "support" of the causes they claim to believe in?

because if you're the age of those serving in Iraq you should not be willing to send other people to put the lives on the line when you are not. If you think it's right to fight in Iraq, then you should be in the front lines.

I can't speak for all "libs", but I personally feel that if you're going to be brave enough to ask soldiers like my nephew to fight and die, you should at least have the guts to join him.

Wow,You got somebody to post that lie about most soldiers being Republicans again.
Butr,to answer your question,it's a response to the fact that many of the Republican leaders who were architects of this war are Chickenhawks, that is,people who make war,but who have avoided military service in the past.

If you believe in God, you go to church. That's called standing up for what you believe in. If you believe that the war in Iraq is wrong, you buy a bumper sticker, you go to peace marches, you voice your opinion on pages like this one. That's called standing up for what you believe in. If you believe that racism is wrong, you go out and try to change it & if someone disagrees with you and beats you or shoots you, that's the price you pay. That's called standing up for what you believe in. If you have never been in the military (and yes I was) & you agree with Bush & think our young people should be killed in a war in which most Americans disagree with from the safety of your home , then you should go sign up and fight the fight with actions, not hollow words. That's called standing up for what you believe in.
