I agree. I have email sometimes, but if I get rude emails I shut it for a few weeks.

I think you are overgeneralising a bit. I don't believe that I post nasty answers but, until recently, I had not enabled the email feature and I still haven't enabled IM.
I don't do IM because, while I like IM well enough, I prefer to restrict it to friends (IRL friends, that is). I did not have email enabled because I wasn't sure that I wanted to engage in the one to one contact that email involves. I changed that setting recently but felt almost as though I was taking a risk. I'm happy to report that I'm perfectly happy with the response I've had so far to that.
Also, while there are certainly some undoubtedly objectionable answers posted to some questions, you have to remember that one person's nasty answer is no more than someone else's strong opinion.

I don't allow im or emails because I am sick of scary individuals sending filth to me.
The nasty individuals do it because they are cowards. They hide behind their avatars feeling all pleased with themselves. But we all know they only do it because they are incapable of holding an intelligent debate. They come in make a derogatory comment and then run away like little children. It's a bit sad really.

It's just words on a computer. If you see something you don't like don't read it. Most of the rude things said in here are said to make people mad. To answer a rude post is letting the rude poster know they accomplished their job.I think it's real nice that someone would take time away from cybering with their cousin to surf over to Yahoo answers and find that special person to try and get them mad. If those people really get you mad and you can't e-mail them. You can E-mail me and get your anger out on me. You can give me hell and I won't get mad.
racerfunnycar@yahoo.com Let me have it.

I have often wondered about that to some people just like to act childish they probably are children !! I have wanted to respond to their rudeness and of course you can't no emails excepted !! I'd like to give their heads a shake !! Their parents must be so proud of their spawns!! They never have anything intelligent to say so they should shut their mouths!!

It is the easy way isn`t it? They do not then have to explain their rudeness. If people do not have the courage of their convictions, then they should not pass judgement on others. I am always slightly suspicious when someone allows neither messenger or e-mail contact.

From what I've seen, a lot of decent people don't open up their email because they don't want abuse. From what I have seen lately I agree with them.

I'm with you on that. i don't mind any one mailing me about my answers.I'm not very good at sugar coating my words and no likes to read a long answer so i try to make it short and to the point. then some coward wants to email me some nasty message then hide behind the fact that they will not let you reply back to them....i say if you cant take it then DON'T dish it out.

They post "horrible and nasty" things because they're immature.
They hide because they're afraid.
A happy love life would cure 90% of them.
The remainder likely need medication.

Because they are afraid of being called out and asked to explain their nonsense answers. People have too much time on their hands to sit here and be mean and nasty and judge people that they don't know. Perhaps they need to get laid to make them nicer? lol
