Who Should I Support?????????????

Question

I'm from Ireland,so i don't have a faveorite team yet!!!!!!
when i was in da USA i saw Tampa Bay win the Stanley Cup,
but i also saw the flames,the devils, the ducks, the peinguins, nd the islanders play but who should i support????(Which ever team gets the most votes is the 1 i'll pick)

Ms. Earnshaw...........you tell somebody to choose Buffalo over the Leafs because 'The Leafs haven't won anything since the 60s'

The last time I checked, the Sabres hadn't won anything.....so to me.....the 1967 is still FAR more relevant than NEVER.

Oggie, go with Anaheim for another year or so....then become a Penguins fan!

My personal choice is the Buffalo Sabres they are young talented and they are so much fun to watch they are probably by far the most interesting team to watch there are some teams that i cant even bare to watch because they are so boring so if you want to have fun watching a game i would go with the Buffalo Sabres

well i also need to say to Canadian Biology Man-- if the TML's last championship was in 67 then we are still better because Buffalo only came into existance in 1970 so we still have 3 years to win a cup before we are worse than the TML

I would have to say the Penguins. I'm not from there, and they aren't my favorite team, but I think you will be watching the rise of a dynasty if you follow them.

They have an abundance of young talent like Crosby, Malkin, Staal, and Fleury. All very exciting to watch, and follow their development.

I agree with some of the other answers about watching Hockey in general and figuring out who you like on your own, but you asked for a specific team so this is my suggestion.

I'll give you 2 "Irish" Answers:

1. Toronto Maple Leafs - Not only because they are the best team in the universe, but because their tough guy Wade Belak played for the Belfast Giants 3 seasons ago.

2. Calgary Flames - Because they are a rad team overall, lots of toughness and because Owen Nolan is the only Irish-Born player in the NHL. A pretty good one at that.

I'd love to say go for the Flyers....

I really think you should choose for yourself.

Watch some games. Get to know the teams, the players, the coaches, fans, etc. Then decide which team best suits you and your personality.

Don't go by what other people say, who wins the most, who has the best players, or whatever.

Give yourself some time to choose.

hhhhmmm if you are Irish then you should probably go with the Boston Bruins, but they arn't likely to win the cup anytime soon. Boston has almost as many Irish people as Ireland, or at least thats the way it seems.


I would recommend the Penguins if you want a team that is going places.

The Tampa Bay Lightning is a GREAT team to cheer for. With superstars like Martin St. Louis and Vinny Lecavalier, (who just about every female in Tampa loves) you can't go wrong. The fans here are not obnoxious and loud (*cough* Flyers *cough*) and always friendly. Plus we have a couple great rivalries. When the Florida Panthers come to town, there's always bloodshed. and as u can see, the Flyers games are very intense, just watch who you sit next to. John Tortorella isnt a coach who is afraid to speak his mind. (and curse while hes doing it) Word is that the St. Pete Times Forum is even getting a new scoreboard this year, which already adds to a great stadium.

Just be ready for some shaking goaltending at times.......

don't be a band wagoner find a team where you like the town they play in or their style of play. don't just have people tell you who to route for. but if you go for Tampa bay brace your self because there is probably a big trade coming up for them. the islanders and the devils will probably suck this year so be ready for that. and if you go for the ducks everyone will think you're jumping on the Stanley cup band wagon.

all the other teams are actually girls dressed up as guys, so they can play. They are really buff girls so yea they are good, but oh boy, i wouldnt want to cheer for imposters like them.

I have to agree with all the people who have chosen the Anaheim Ducks. I hope you all aren't bandwagon jumpers falling off other bandwagons.

As for the Sabres, you had your chance. Losing two of your best players is never good. I keep hearing from Ruff and Regier that Connolly is Buffalo's best player..........well, he has a whole year to save that franchise brom being irrelevant.
