Ok, a few steps first, anybody wanting to get "For Dummies" or other type of quick short cut type books, let it be known, waste your money on these ONLY if you're not sure if programming is what you really want, they can be vague and tell you what to write but not why it does a thing or how to think on your own.
Second, if you are serious and know you are dedicated to programming, first get some ebooks, the BEST are
C++ Programming: From Problem Analysis to Program Design 6th edition
by D. S. Malik
C++ Programming: Program Design Including Data Structures 6th edition
by D. S. Malik
C++ The Complete Reference
4th or 5th Edition
by Herbert Schildt
&
C++ Cookbook
by D. Ryan Stephens
various PDF books for assignments (w. solutions of course)
found anywhere, such as...
http://www.lix.polytechnique.fr/~dambrosio/teaching/dix/INF585-2013/exercises-solutions.pdf
(every single one of these can be found online for free in PDF format from NON-Torrent sites if you just look real good)
Then for video tutorials, the best place to go is
http://www.cplusplustutor.com/index.php
Then, for questions, answers, hints, tips ect., just go to your favorite social interaction website like Facebook and such, they always have several groups dedicated to a particular subject or just programming in general. even if you hate those sites, just go for the pages, HUGE help, the "Free online school" sites are always crap, incomplete, out of date & you usually have to pay for further lessons and personal interaction with a teacher or advanced student for questions.
Well, that's all I got, good luck and great day :)
