if its leaking u have no hope coz its probably a rust hole and u cant fix that, not even worth silicone sealing it. if its jammed it might be seized, both those are unrepairable. if its not chopping properly (rather slicing) then its stuffed too. If its just jammed it may just have a bread clip or something in there, something small like that can make trouble for you. in australia dollars it will cost you about $300-$400 to get it replaced (at my work its $325) and if you want to remove it completely and replumb it up as normal waster it will cost $100-$200 (my work charges $125 i think) thats australian dollars. no use calling an electrician coz there are more reasons why it would be plumbing then electrical, only electrical if a switch is blown. if its not plumber the plumber might charge u a service call fee but not a big fee or might not charge u at all and will tell you its elec (if it is)

Try the reset button on the garbage disposal first. My plumber told me that 9 out of 10 times, that is all you have to do. (he was telling me about another customer). If that doesnt work, you will have to call a plumber.

A Plumber.

First, press the reset button on the bottom.

Next, WITH THE SWITCH OFF, stick a broom handle on the inside, and force/turn it clockwise. Take out the broom handle, and press the reset button on the bottom, then turn on the switch.
