1. Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4. Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6. Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

I tried, but couldn't find any flaws. Thank goodness it's illegal. Otherwise the divorce rate might actually go down. And then how could Conservatives save us from ourselves?
Thanks for the laughs. Great post!

1. This has not been proven, that it is "not natural" it is based on unverified speculation. Real Americans reject anything that is not fashionable in their eyes, such as peace, tolerance, etc. 2. Gay marriage will not encourage people to be gay. The statement is a fallacy. But some might find the courage to jump out of the closet. 3. This is also a fallacy. It would be the same to say, that if you eat american beef, your skin will turn green. (that could be cool though) 4. Straigh marriages are often very discriminative. It is time that the concept of marriage changes. 5. The meaning of each marriage is individual between two people. If they let their marriage become less meaningful, then the marriage was not strong in the first place. 6. The world definately doesn't need more children. The more the human species expands, the more it destroys everything around it. Less population will lead to a higher and healthier quality of living.

Hilarious. Love the sarcasm. My favorites are numbers 3 and 5.
As a Christian and a libertarian who hates control and fascism and inequality, I can surely see both sides.
Religion and government should not mix. Political scenes are turning my faith into a hotbed for power-hungry debates and hatred, instead of love and forgiveness, and unconditional positive regard for others.
So here is the best solution I've ever heard: abolish marriage completely, for everybody. Remove it's legal standing. It's a religious institution anyway. Allow every citizen the same rights under a Civil Union, straight and gay alike. The rights and priviledges for marriage now could be transfered to the Civil Union and that should be the document in the US. To end this, you have to compromise some things and be fair to both sides.
Those who want to get "married" can acquire a certificate at a church ceremony that is not legally recognized. This way, Christians and Muslims will not see their sacred ceremony as defiled and all will be equal in this country. Pleases everybody! There are churches that will marry gay people. And the majority of churches will declare them married by a false church, and the marriage invalid. The church should also be happy to see atheist couples quit acting like they need a pastor to be joined.
But the point is that it ceases to be America's problem. It becomes the church's. And the church has been disagreeing on this anyway, why not leave it all to it? I don't want Christians to be known for winning this battle in the political world. We have others to fight that are more important, like loving people and ending poverty and stuff.
It may be possible that the powers that be are trying to keep us distracted with this issue that so polarizes, while when we are not looking, they steal our money, start wars, and do other stuff behind our backs. It's time to focus on our huge bullying government, rather than constantly blather on about gay marriage. It's a "principle of the thing" issue anyway.

1.True A homosexual is one who ENGAGES in the act. You may be born feminine and have "natural' desires, just as someone may have the "natural" desire to burn your house down. But they don't become an arsonist until they strike the match.
2.True Homosexuality is a choice and people who have no morals are often willing to accept the motto: If it feels good, do it." Surely not all, but some would be encouraged.
3. False There are few morals in this country any more and any behavior such as bestiality has been around for years.
4.False Stupid statements
5.False There are plenty of whores in the world. Ever been to a "Gay Parade"?
6.False Not all marriages produce children. A homosexual marriage is incapable.

Your whole argument revolves around circular logic. Anyone can make a ridiculous comparison to support their point. Here's the reason Christians reject homosexual marriage. Since you are all so open-minded, you certainly won't mind reading this:
God made man in His image. God made woman in His image. God obviously has all the qualities of both men and women. He would have to, since he created them.
Since man has half the qualities of God, and women have half, the two become one in marriage. Now they can together portray God in their home, in front of their children. They are of one mind and one body, as is God. They're not equal to God, because they are still human and they still sin. But when the relationship is functional and in the right context, they have the capability to be a whole person.
Two men or two women cannot make one person. They each possess the same qualities. True, their are different hormonal levels and chemical balances, and variations of masculinity and femininity. But that doesn't necessarily make someone gay (this has been proven). The fact remains, that men and women are completely different in the way they think, the way they view things, and the way they act and react. We see this all around us every day. It is by design. The differing viewpoints come together in a functional relationship and the children get what they need from each parent, separately and together.
This is the real reason why gay marriage is rejected. Whether you choose to believe in a Creator or not, the logic is still the same.
Further evidence shows that homosexuals (for the most part) are rarely monogamous on a long-term basis. Many of the civil unions have already broken up. You don't hear about it, because most people (especially journalists) think like you.
It always seems like the so-called "open-minded" are the first to ridicule and attack those with traditional values, the values that have brought us these 10,000 years and are continually degrading. Does anyone think we are really better off? Race relations are worse, sexual disease is rampant, porn is mainstream, divorce is at all-time high, child molestation is at an all-time high, crime, poverty, greed, etc.... everything is worse. I don't blame it on homosexuals any more than I blame it on the sinful nature of humans and the so-called "tolerance" that is preached today.
Too bad this tolerance doesn't extend both directions...
Edited to add:
I continually here people say "they have to be born that way because no one would subject themself to the pain and ridicule of being gay" as proof that it's a natural occurrence. I don't buy it and here's why. As a child, I often liked to play with the girls. I remember playing house and putting a towel on my head to simulate long hair and holding baby dolls. Later, during adolescence I experimented with boys. In fact, I knew alot of boys in the neighborhood who would jack each other off, do oral and even occasionally anal, etc. I liked the feeling! But I was interested in girls too, although I was very awkward with them. Had I been in today's "permissive society", everyone would have certainly told me I was gay and that it was alright to be so.
But no one did back then, they said it was wrong. So consequently, I gave it up around 15 -16 or so to join conventional society... and got married at 21.
That was 25 years ago and they've been great! I have two wonderful grown children and an excellent career. My sex life is fantastic! We incorporate many fetishes, but also have wonderful intimacy. We sometimes role play where we switch genders... but we're still of course man and woman. My parents love my wife and hers love me. We've been through thick and thin, and have stuck together and made it. And we plan to remain together til death do we part.
None of this (the loving wife and great kids) would have been possible had I let someone tell me I'm gay when I had those confusing feelings, and encouraged me to keep on.
It's a learned response! If one gives in to it, they can allow themselves to become gay. If they don't "feed the fire", they can be straight. Every one of those boys I had experiences with are long-term married now with children. They show no tendencies of being gay. Certainly many (if not most) of us would be living a miserable gay existence today hopping from partner to partner (or sick/dead from HIV) had someone told us we couldn't help it, that it was normal and perfectly alright.

I've been bi at least since the age of 16 (I'm 24 now). I LOVE women and I ENJOY the sex and companionship! I almost always prefer to be with a woman than a man.
But I'm totally against the homosexual agenda and gay marriage!
I'm SO sick of militant in-your-face attitudes when it comes to pushing views on others. The so-called "gay community" is an irrational bunch of hypocrites.
Leave marriage alone! If you prefer aberrant sex, go for it! Have all you want! I do... and I LOVE it! Just do it behind closed doors (where all sex belongs) AND don't try to legitimize it OR tear down the majority who disagree with it. They're NOT bigots or homophobic. They're traditionalists and they have every right to be.
America is still a free country.... at least for the time being. That is, until the self-appointed "morally superior" liberals (who know what's best for all of us) finally manage to destroy all law and tradition.
P.S. I guess you noticed that many of the people who SUPPORT gay marriage are too dull to understand the sarcasm of your post. That says something right there...

LMFAO! i'm still laughing at number two!! gay marriages have no impact on my day to day life. funny thing is....neither does straight marriages. whoever marries, marries. doesn't change my choice of living. it won't change my past, it won't change my future. so if you want to marry, then by golly, go get married!
