what is the tree disease that peels the bark off the tree?

the bark peels off by itself and its dying. dont know how to treat it tho...

There may not be anything wrong with the tree at all. It could be a Birch. They shed their bark yearly. Elms will shed bark to make room for growth. Crepe Myrtles also shed so it could just be the tree. Do you know what kind of tree it is?
