All great answers... Are you looking for the Method?
I recommend "No Acting, Please". Or any book on the Stanislavsky method would be good.

While NYGal is right, you didn't ask what is the best book to teach you how to act for the camera.
The best book is "Acting for the Camera," by Tony Barr, the next is the Michael Caine book mentioned in your first answer. Caine's book is for the actor who has some experience.
Now to touch on NYGal's assumption, that you are looking for acting training, let me say that first you need to be an actor, and you only learn to act by acting. So be in as many plays as you can and bet some experience. Then take a camera acting class somewhere.

I actually would recomend a film, not a book- Michael Caine's Acting for Film- easily googled and an AWESOME take on film work. Also, start filming yourself w/ a good ole fashioned home camera, just so you can get used to watching yourself and notice personal tics, habits, etc. Then try to go to a class. A book will help you w/ terms and all that, but it is hard to instruct someone in a medium by using another unrelated medium- best to actually get in front of a camera asap. Good Luck!
