I hesitate to add anything as the previous replies are mainly excellent - I think it was Gandhi who aked "how can you thank God for the good things He sends if you don't also thank Him for the apparently bad things - who are you to judge which is which". In my life I have realised that what looked like a lost opportunity was actually a chance to avoid a disaster and when i have pushed for a "good chance" it ended in tears. There is an interesting Christian concept of the "Sacrament of the present Moment" which, simply, is that every new moment is a chance to change oneself and the world for the better - so one just lives each moment as fully as you can and life will be richer and feel more intense.
Don't despair or all will go dark on you. Why does life suck - are you looking inwards too much - remember the story of the man with one leg who stopped moaning when he met someone with no legs.

Life is beautiful. No question about that. Don't be so unthankful. Regardless of all of the bad things that you may be having to face, you know that they won't last forever. I doubt very much that you have either a physical or mental disability. If you look in the mirror you can see what a truly amazing being you are. You have five senses. You can run, jump - do loads of physical things. When you look around at the sky, the clouds, the landscape, sunsets, the moon, stars in the sky, the millions of different insects; all the things that humans have built and created - buildings, cars, tv, movies, music (the stuff of life). All the foods that you can eat, the drinks, the fact that you can communicate with other human beings, that you are able to love and be loved.
Life is amazing. If you have problems - do your best to sort them out, Get help if you need it. And then take a deep breath, relax and just think about what an amazing experience life really is.

The Secret is like any other religious promise, though it's not a religion. All you have to do is follow the rules set down by a religion/how-to-be-happy book and you'll be happy!
The truth of the matter is that life sucks for everyone in different ways. Everyone has underlying issues that are unresolved that make it hard to deal with problems that come up. Witness celebrities like Lindsay Lohan who have wealth, fame, and people fawning all over them. They can have any thing they want and yet their life still sucks.
So, how to get life to be unsucky? There's no single easy way there. Some people will talk about getting religion. Some people will try to sell books with plans. I think that life sucks because when it doesn't turn out as we want it to, or expect it to, we have problems dealing with that.
A therapist can help. Not the pass out Prozac kind, but the kind that'll help you learn some life skills. Like, how to figure out what you really want out of life and how to get there; how to be emotionally fulfilled yourself; how to find a career you like and how to get it. Sometimes religion helps, too. A lot of people find the easiest way to deal with hard times is to "let go and let god" as the saying goes. It's the reason why the first step in twelve step programs like AA has acknowledging a higher power in it.
Most content people that I know are ones that are content with what they have, rather than the ones that have what they want. "If only I had (insert person or thing desired here), I'd be happy!" and then they get that person or thing and find out that they're not happy.

As long as you hold that thought in your head...it will suck...change your thinking..change your life...but you have to realize..no one said it would be easy....no one..the human mind will except anything as true in around 90 days..you attract what you give your attention to...so if you are focusing on bad...you will draw bad into your life...and opposite...just try keeping your thoughts on happy and good for 90 days and see if you dont change...the law of cause and effect...works everytime...but you cant just do it once and say it doesnt work...there is such a thing and it does work...I am living proof...if you care enough about yourself you will give yourself the chance and really try to give it everything until something does change...the secret does work...if you give it the chance to....without giving up at the first little obstacle...

Life on this earth was never intended to be perfect. There are highs and lows, and it often seems that the lows outnumber the highs. However, you just have to be resilient and go with the flow. I have no idea what you mean by "the secret". Happiness is what you make it. I can tell you're young, and one day you'll look back on this time in your life, and wonder where the happiness went. I hate to tell you this, but the real trials appear when you're much older. So don't sweat the small stuff now.

You have to make your life, the best it can be. Having responsibility can help your life, not falling apart. Kindness and respect also is something you need, to have a good life.
