Interesting question..I use to leave it there most of the time until one day a friend of mine said the following: A lot of us sit around and complain about how we never have money..some even pray for money! So when we see a penny on the floor we should always pick it up because its Gods way of putting money in our path..even if it is just a penny!

That depends on where it is and how many other people are around ... and if there are 'homeless' or poverty stricken who might 'need' that penny more than I do, I'll leave it, but if I see a 'really shiny' one I'm more likely to pick it up ... but to be honest, I more often find dimes, nickels, quarters, and even 'dollar bills' ... but my son 'found' the 'largest' amount ... in a 'parking lot' with no cars within 100 feet, he found a 'bundle' of five $100 bills. He took it to the store to 'turn in' but they told him since it came from 'outside' the store they couldn't take it ... and that he could 'keep it' ... he was only 14, and was so 'scared' he had to call me to pick him up ... but we were also so 'very poor' that the $500 was a 'fortune' to us, and we 'ate well' for two months with that money (there were six in the family to feed) ...

I used to always pick them up because of the saying "Find a penny, pick it up, all the day have good luck"... but the last couple of times I picked one up I had very bad days with not a shred of good luck, so now I leave them alone.

Trust me, I came across the dropped penny many times and I always picked them up. They kept saying lucky penny, but I have yet to see this saying proved true. Or is it really? What do you think?

Pick it up. Every penny has the words "In God we trust" So as I pick up the penny I try to think of something I am trusting God for or am thankful to God for.

If I have time I pick it up and say find a penny pick it up all day long you will have good luck!

If I drop a penny, maybe falls out, I always leave it , look down on it, & think You're a Lucky Penny.

I always pick them up. Even pennies add up. Over the years, I have probably picked up a mortgage payment worth of them. And that's allot of money.

i love pennies dont you! one time i picked up tons of pennies and i saved them like most people dont and then like a long time later i went to cash it for like dollar bills and i had 130 dolares folks isnt that great on the ground ok fine just throw your pennies on the floor id like to randomly have 130 dollars every six months

I pick it up. The good luck part is to give it away. There's always a little kid who gets excited to get a penny. And then I get good luck. Now, it hasn't happened yet, mind, but I figure one day I'm going to be REEEEAAAAALLLLLL lucky.
