Once an egg is fertilized, it makes its way down into the uterus where it will implant itself and begin to grow. This process is called implantation. Implantation takes 7-10 days from beginning to end. At the end of the process, there may be implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding happens when the egg is "burrowing" itself into the uterine wall. A woman may notice some spotting. Implantation bleeding is more like spotting that happens off and on for a day, maybe two. If it is heavier or longer than that, it's not implantation bleeding. Most pregnant women do not experience implantation bleeding.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

when an embryo impants in the lining of the uterus (which is what you shed during a regualr period), it can cause some slight bleeding, which usually comes out brown or pinkish, usually neer bright red. It happens 10-14 days after conception, usually when a woman expects her period. Its not uncommon, and many women mistake it for a lighter than normal period. Wait a week and test, good luck!!

it means that the egg burrowed into your uterine wall and sometimes this causes light bleeding or spotting about a week before your normal period is due to show up so if that is what you are experiencing then wait until 1 or 2 days before your period is due and then take an early detection test and you might be pregnant...good luck
