The president does not want Carl Rove to testify to Congress under oath. It’s widely assumed that this is to avoid risking perjury. But the real reason Carl Rove can’t take an oath is much simpler.

It’s because taking an oath involves touching a bible, and he cannot safely do so without incurring second- or third-degree burns.

Bush, the devout Christian, understands this. And with his well-documented penchant for compassion and empathy, he simply refuses to put another human being in harm’s way to serve his purposes.

That's very cute, but I impute less pure motives for keeping the puppet master away from the glare of public scrutiny.

Yeah, a well known secret is that Rove is an atheist. Rather humorous in light of his pulling the Christian coalition to the republican party. Just another example of hypocrisy in the Bush whitehouse.

Fun question, but there's no Bible included in the oath for congressional testimony. Just a little "so help you, God" to keep up the pretense of government being inalienably linked to religion.

Carl Rove wishes he were Satan. Instead he's merely a pathetic wannabe who does his mischief at the expense of patsy's "Scooter" Libby. You know, if you're a grown man known as "Scooter", you probably need jail time.

I laughed but Clinton had petroleum jelly on his hands when he touched the Bible. His reason I will leave to you to decide.

That's what we need to do. Take our cues from "Black Culture" - 'scuse me; gotta go beat my ho's, score some crack and smoke some whities.
