When you ask a question, you are hoping for a response from someone. When someone answers your question, they assume that you want a personal response.
What are you asking here? Do you you expect someone to answer your questions as someone else, and not offer any personal input at all?
People WILL take your questions personally, otherwise they would not bother to answer them.

I guess sometimes I do. However when I read the question and it is obviously someone much younger I don't feel that way. As in: "what did your mother say when you first colored your hair?" My answer was, "I was 40 years old and my mother didn't care."
