You probably know the term, DRM "Digital Rights Management" or "Digital Restrictions Management". If you don't, it is a special encoding used by the MPAA and RIAA to regulate what is done with music and movies you pay for. Almost everywhere has DRM built in, and Itunes has just began to offer DRM free music, yet you can spend $15 for a movie on Itunes and you are not allowed to burn it to DVD. This is not Itunes fault, but the rules they have to follow, along with many digital retail companies, like yahoo, Wal-mart, Napster and so forth. Regardless if you have an Ipod, Zune, or other MP3 player, it does affect you.

Do you feel that DRM is something that is useful and protects the movie and record studios, or that it is an infringement on your rights by restricting what you can do with something you paid for? I am curious as to what most people think. I would like some in-depth answers as to your reasons. Also, does it encourage you to illegally download the content?

I think DRM should be baned. It's your music you paid for it.

if I can give you an answer you can understand.
DRM has it's reasons why they are doing this but I think we as the buyers should have rights as to what we pay for. we the buyers are the money makers for these companies and DRM is hurting us by being strict and changing their policy.
we should be able to continue doing as we have been and not be so to say penalized for no wrong doings on our part.
hope I answered good enough .

ugh, DRM protection is a f*cker yet they are commencing to make those iTunes Plus albums..this is not assisting plenty yet a minimum of they are engaged on it. reckoning on what song you prefer to get, you may desire to easily attempt out Limewire or Soulseek. I do consider the reality it is IS detrimental the sales interior the whole song industry, yet they could desire to discover a thank you to make a compromise with all the song listeners.
