Yes, the fact of the matter is there ARE MANY truths to these conspiracy theories.

If you would like a good book about this, try and find "Rule by Secrecy".

i recently started looking into many concperiecy theories, and i feel kinda like you at times.... but a lot of it makes perfect sense. they say that those who have the money hold the power, and they basicly brainwash americans into giving them even more money, making them even more rich.

i think ill stop there before i start to confuse myself too lol...

There are always going to be crazy people out there ruining a valid question with their crazy talk. I do not believe the official version of what happened on 9-11 because there are too many holes in it and because being a student of history i know that people in power tend to become corrupt and crave more power and money. I know that people in control of our own and other Governments throughout history have used deception in order to further their own ends. I think it is burying your head in the sand to not even question things. Think for yourself do not let the Media think for you. I know we live in a scary world and its even more scary to think that some of the people we look to to lead us may be part of the scary. We know for certain that our CIA has done quite a few illegal and underhanded things in the past. Will anyone dispute that? It is not a Conspiracy "theory" it is a proven Conspiracy. The CIA was and probably still is involved in the illegal drug trade. I personally wonder whether the people at the top of "Al Qaeda" hold the same views as those in the rank and file. It is a fact that Osama Bin Laden not only worked for the CIA in the past but that his Family is connected to the ruling class in Saudi Arabia and his Family is connected to the Bush family. In fact George Bush Sr sits as a boardmember on a Bin Laden owned Company. I believe that now in this year of 2007 that yes we actually do have a large fanatical Muslim population that hates us. We have done a good job of recruiting for "Al Qaeda" since 9-11. We have done a good job of making the threat real. I would not doubt that many of the people involved in the attacks before during and after 9-11 were fanatics. I do wonder about those sending them on their missions though. Even though i know this statement is going to get me a bunch of thumbs down ill say it. I also wonder about the ease with which those twin towers fell down and i would seriously like to see video from the pentagon that actually shows a commercial jetliner hitting it. There has to be SOME truth in any theory elsewise only the hopelessly vapid would subscribe. I do not believe that everything is a conspiracy, but i most definitely KNOW that the very rich and those on top of the political structures of the world by and large did not get there by being humanitarians. Please do read ALL the so called facts from all sides of the arguement with a skeptical eye and THINK FOR YOURSELF.

Scottu- i believe that you make far too broad of a statement when you suggest that ALL Theories of Conspiracy start out as false and work backwards. That is quite the generalization. What about the Theory that Nixon conspired to perpetrate illegal acts? That was a Theory to begin with. Instead of seeing only a BuzzWord in Conspiracy Theory actually stop and think about what each word means.

It's probably a little paranoid to believe the big super-conspiracy stories. On the other hand, the people who believe that NO conspiracy is possible are probably just as nutty. I mean, we've all heard of Watergate, Iran Contra, and Whitewater, right? Or if we go back further, the Teapot Dome scandal, etc. So, politicians can get swept up into stuff like that. And, obviously, 9/11 was a conspiracy among a bunch of Arabs to attack America. Probably there are little conspiracies going on all the time, but most of them don't turn into anything. I don't believe most of the stories I hear, and I suspect that most of the documentaries and books are wrong, too, but once in a while, there's probably a smidgeon of truth in one or two of them. Did you see Mel Gibson in "Conspiracy Theory"?

Do you believe the amnesty bill was about illegal aliens? It wasn't. Amendment 413 gave the authority to proceed with the Security and Prosperity Partnership, which would totally open the borders anyway. Corporations run the government and they need cheap labor. We hampered their ultimate plan but since the government is putting small amounts of amnesty in other bills, how can you not see their agenda.Any conspiracy they have we can alter by working together. Wearing blinders you never see the whole picture.Truth is stranger than fiction.

There is truth to the rumor of W. Bush and his cronies trying to create The North American Union, and David Rockefeller and the New World Order. I think it is nuts that people believe a govt as incompetent as W. Bush's could pull off a conspiracy to create the 9/11 attacks in order to invade Iraq.

I don't think ignorance is a conspiracy. It comes naturally. The fastest growing job market is janitors. See. the plan is to get people from other countries to work and pay taxes so we can go on welfare and won't have to work. I think it's a pretty clever scheme myself. Then we'll have time to watch the government 24/7. It's really irresponsible to give children guns or leave them on their own unsupervised anyway.

Conspiracy theories start out with a false belief and work backwards...changing and distorting facts that don't support the theory. It's like George Bush is to blame for the bridge falling in Minnesota...he never crawled under it and inspected it himself...or...he wanted it to fall, knowing good and well it was in poor condition...planning it at the exact second the bridge was full of democrats.

Yes there are, only ignorant people refuse to believe them. The government has been hiding things from us for years. Always question everything~

No. they're annoying. There is plenty of shady business in washington, you don't need to exaggerate it.
you can't fight it if you sound like a insane person ranting.
