I float the bag for 15 to 20 minutes in the tank..Then I add alittle less than half a coffee cup of water to the bag every 15 minutes for 45 minutes to an hour, then i net them and release them.If I bought them from a store that i know and trust I do pour them in the tank water and all but I have very few stores that I trust enough to do that with.I haven't lost a fish yet.

First, open the bag and allow it to float in the tank for about 15 minutes, then put a little water from the tank into the bag and wait another 15 minutes. Then do it again, but with about as much water from the tank as is in the bag. After another 15 minutes net the fish from the bag and place it in the tank. Don't pour the water from the bag into the tank, pour it out! That will get your fish into their new home safe and sound.

fill the tank up with water and poor the bag in with the fish into it. It will take a day for them to settle down though.

there are a a couple ways to acclimate a new fish to your tank. one way is exactly what magicman said and that is the easiest. If you want to go even further you can set up a dripp acclimation but with goldfish it isnt really neccesary. Here is a website with a video of exactly how to set up a drip acclimation. follow this link and just press play and it will show you step by step how to set up a drip acclimation. this is a saltwater fish website but it works the exact same for fresh water. hope this helps and good luck with your new fish
