It depends on what you think is expensive. There is a lot of places on Nicollet Ave that are great. I like Brits for their fish and chips ($14?) and The Newsroom for their ahi tuna sandwich ($12ish). You could always go to Rock Bottom--food from $8-18. I also like Ikes--the best food! But that runs more like $13-25. If you go farther south on Nicollet and 14th there is Salsa A La Salsa, which has great Mexican and is pretty affordable.

Well there are a few places in the Minneapolis area, there is Brit's which is more of a nice British pub, very good. Also there is a very good Italian eatery by the excel energy center, also if you can find one, out in the suburbs of Minneapolis there is a great pizzeria named "Angeno's " Very GOOD!!

I moved away from the area, but I loved Brit's Pub for casual food. I loved the Scotch eggs.

I like the food and atmosphere at Babalu. It is reasonably priced and the paella is out of this world! If you register with www.opentable.com you can make reservations for points and eventually earn enough for free food. (Babalu typically rewards 1,000 points if you go Mon-Thurs)
