I am so happpppppppyyyyyyy for him he finally did it. I know that the last few days he has had it rough because he didn't hit any but he did it and pasted this hurdle. As long as he keeps doing great he will break any record Bonds sets. I love him and I hope he keeps up the good work.

This is very good. Now, he can get back to being a solid hitter and not be distracted be the hype. The Yankees will need a more focused A-Rod to keep the pressure on Boston and the wild card race.
PS..... we need to keep him here,so give him some love, people!!!!!

I am vey happy that A-Rod hit number 500 today. I feel bad that I couldn't watch it. I saw on Gameday on mlb.com. I thought he would hit against Gil Meche tomorrow. I'm glad it's over with anyway.

Dude i am so excited i wish i couldve been there. I congradulate him and i hope that in the futre of his career that he could have over 3000 hits. That would be awsome for the Bronx Bombers because it sure was exciting down here when craig got 3000.
Congrats A-rod!!!!
We love you!!!

only yet another step to an surprising profession that's barely gonna get extra conceited with checklist numbers!! not a yanks fan, yet a extensive A-rod fan, so i say congrats besides, and looking out forward to 3000.

I love it!
A-Rod is the man, and he will carry the NY Yankees to another Championship this year.
Just would like to see Clemmens step up!

Yes - too bad we can't just set him in front of Bonds now and move him to a city that might appreciate him.

As much as I dislike the yankees, I do have to give kudos to A-Rod. At least he is doing the right way (NO DRUGS!) and I respect that.

Yes, I am! My dad called me from work to tell me. Neither one of us are NYY fans, but we want him to SHATTER Bonds' homerun record (if he ever hits 755).
