You absolutely can! Some women have very tender nipples during pregnancy and nursing can be a little bit uncomfortable & sometimes in the last trimester the milk supply is a little down, but it can be done and when your new baby is born you can do what is called "tandem nursing." Check out the links below for some good info & congratulations!!

You can and should continue breastfeeding your four month old. Your milk will not dry up because you are pregnant, but may change taste a little and slow around the time of your birth, then change to colostrum for the new baby. There are books on tandem nursing which you should look up, and you could also go to a La Leche League meeting in your area to get some support and help with your questions.

Your breastmilk is the best food for both of your babies, especially in the first year. You can definitely continue breastfeeding your baby, but you should also let your doctors know this is what you are doing so they can help you along if you need it.

yes of course you can still breastfeed whilst pregnant.

i fell pregnant with my second when my daughter was 2 months old, it is hard work i promise you that. my girls are 4 and 5 now and i am pregnant again, they will be 5 and 6 when this one is born. i made a vow to myself that i will be more careful after having this baby, i will never put myself in that situation again. not that i regret having them as i love the bones off both of them but boy is it hard work. a bit like having twins only the oldest teaches youngest new tricks. lol. good luck and congrats!!

My heart goes out to you . . . you are a brave woman!! Yes you can continue to breastfeed. Your milk may decrease some but by that time your 4 month old will be on baby food too. Good luck to you.

yes you can carry on breast feeding your baby while you are pregnant.but remember that your body is going through changes in preperation for a new life so you need to take that in to consideration too and make sure you don't over do it as breast feeding and pregnancy can take a lot out of you. so get as much rest as you can and eat healthly and drink plenty of fluids too.and also consult your doctor and midwife

Kudos to all the women who answered that yes, she can and should continue to nurse while pregnant.

I went to a doctor who told me that I should stop nursing my daughter while pregnant because it could cause me to have a miscarriage.

What a bunch of baloney.

But, of course check with your doctor (I prefer midwife) first to make sure.

Yes, of course you can continue breastfeeding. You may see a change in the milk supply and the baby may notice it too, but as long as you can keep up and the nursing baby is content, go for it.

You can definitely breastfeed. You will just need plenty of calories and water or your supply may suffer. I had a scare a couple months ago (my son was 3 months) and when I called my doctor, he told me I I should have about 2800 calories and 72 oz (minimum) water every day.
