Yep, I know we need another photo op here, but again why the delayed response from our "Commander and Chief"? I guess domestic issues don't matter as much to him if at all. You think he would have learned a lesson during Katrina when he decided to attend John McCain's B-day first.......

Right wing apologists suck. This guy is a lousy president and they have no business defending him anymore. But go ahead and give an excuse......what, did he need to make sure the area around the bridge wasn't also going to fall in the water?

For all you right wing tools, maybe when he starts outright murdering your kids, you might actually start having a slight problem with him. But I know, Jesus forgives.........

Eukodol, that's why we make up around the 72% of people that feels he is doing a lousy job instead of the 28% like you. Pretty big percentage difference there, ace.

I am no fan of Mr. Bush...but so what??? It's a bridge collapse. Does it merit a Federal Response??? Certainly, the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County and the State of Minnesota are more than competent enough to deal with this tragedy.

Is it our expectation that the President attend every disaster that befalls us. Let's be realistic. The Dude has a job to do and every train derailment, plane crash, bridge collapse does not necessarily require Presidential attention. There are a whole lot of other folks hired to do that.

I am no apologist for W. He truly will go down as one of the worst Presidents this nation has ever had the stupidity to elect 2X.

But c'mon...we only make ourselves look pathetic when we attack him for every thing that happens in this country. Let's not do to Bush what the cons did and still do to Clinton.

How long in the previous you awaken? What precisely is the state tax funds going to at present??? what share greater bridges or tunnels could crumple in the previous this question is demanded to be responded via human beings? what style of a place can we live in the place our roads, tunnels, and bridges are in such terrible condition? No, this one has no longer something to do with Bush, besides the fact that it has each and every thing to do with how the state funds is being spent and missed. Unfortunatley it style of feels that paying out some settlements is greater value-effective than fixing the lots of structures that are in decide for of restoration. look it up, i understand there are a gross volume of bridges in PA that are no longer as much as saftey standards.

Think about this will you? If you had a loved one missing wouldn't you want the rescuerers to be more intent on searching for your family member or being distracted by Secret Service and all the preperations it takes to have the president come in and the tv crews! How can people not understand that the president shouldn't be at any disaster until things are stablized a bit and they can free up some manpower to accomadate his visit?

President Bush knew that the mess at the bridge was going to be bad,.....he waited until, the rescue people were just about done, and the confusion that would arise with him being there at that time, would have just complicated things,.....as for Katrina,.....how come the Governor of the state told the feds to stay away from the area??,.....

Yeah, what they needed was an army of journalists and secret service agents hampering their rescue/recovery operation so Bush can stage a photo op that serves absolutely no purpose other than to give lefties an excuse to either:

a. complain about the aforementioned photo-op, or
b. complain because the aforementioned photo-up didn't happen soon enough.

You guys are a real hoot.

When the president visits, there is an enormous amount of security necessary and an interruption in the regular daily life of those in the area. Bush didn't go right away mostly because his presence could hamper the rescue and recovery efforts.

I dislike Bush as much as anybody. But you can't fault him on this (other than all the money being used to rebuild Iraq should have been used on our own infrastructure).

It's just a photo op.. Can't blame him as I'd think all presidents would do the same.. I live 5 minutes down the highway from that bridge. I'd rather have had him stay and focus on something more important.. I mean, yes it's a tragedy.. But this sort of thing happens from time to time.. He doesn't need to add on to the fear of bridges the media seems to be perpetuating..

He does not one any good by going at all, just a photo op. It costs the taxpayers well over seven figures when he goes anywhere, what with security and entourage. Rely on it he will use the trip for political purposes at taxpayer expense, rather than the rep party having to pay for it.
I say leave him at home where he can "do stuff" as he says.

Your comments are absurd. There is nothing the President can do, except make a courtesy call. Major traffic routes were shut down because of the accident. Because of security the President's motorcade would have thrown week day traffic into chaos. If that happened, you would be the first person bitching about it on this site. Grow up.
