You didn't want women and the blacks to get the right to vote. Most likely it was because you thought it was your right under god. You don't support a woman's right to choose, but you really wouldn't even need to go down that road if you would take away the stigma from the morning after pill or contraception. You don't support the gay persons right to be married - which will eventually go down the same way as blacks and women voting. Bottom line - you are always wrong. How does it feel? You are on the same side as the KKK, the Nazi's - all because you feel that your mythical god tells you that is what you should think. DO you ever have those days where you wake up and think - man it would be nice to think for myself? All I am saying is that I think if you look to the future - you will see the bigotry of this administration being turned back - and eventually equality and goodness will return to the world.

Economic issues control and pay for social issues. Without a strong economy your social programs collapse. I'm opposed to the drug war and have been since your mommy and daddy were children. Want to bet that the border can't be controlled? That's a truly stupid assumption that it can't. I'll put money, big money, on the idea that I can generate a plan that will reduce the number of illegals in this country by 90% in two years while actually showing a profit. Your claim is only made to justify doing nothing and allowing the illegals to invade our country. And it holds no water. @ I have, many times. It involves enforcing the law and frequent raids against those who employ illegals with heavy fines levied. It involves only giving basic health care to non citizens as you deport them. It means removing the anchor baby laws and making it impossible to live here illegally. Remove the incentives and the illegals will leave of their own accord. In the meantime, the fines and penalties levied will produce a profit, along with more jobs for legal citizens. They'll also act as a deterent. Once the vast majority of illegals have left the country you can implement fair and reasonable immigration rules that don't penalize those who came here honestly. Of course, there is a lot more to it but that is the shell.

After the Union solders left and Reconstruction ended in 1877 until 1968, Jim Crow laws were regularly passed by the Democrats that control state and local southern government
(remember George Wallace, a Dem)
The Black vote for the De ms in the south makes as much historical sense as the Jewish vote for the Nazi Party would be. Get informed or get lost.

You really need to take some history lessons. Other than calling you a retard Jason really did give you the true facts. A good book for you to read would be Team of Rivals written by Doris Kearns Goodwin. It is a book about Abraham Lincoln and all of the trials and tribulations that he faced while president during the civil war. Letters that he wrote and letters that were written to him etc. His thoughts about slavery and the mentality of people at that time in history. You will find alot of valuable information in this book. I am a conservative but used to think Liberal minded but then I started studying history and was amazed at all the things I thought were truth were really lies. Also read Bernard Golbergs new book "Crazies to the left of me Wimps to the right." I don't agree with everything he says but if you decide to read this book I think you will start to see some things in a different light. If you really want the facts and not just be a hater please start doing some fact finding of your own. PLEASE!! Open your mind to new possibilities and think outside the box.

First, it was the Republicans who fought for the rights of Blacks and woman. yes, many Conservatives are against abortion but so are many Democrats. Gays are an issue from both sides of the aisle. As for the KKK a***, they are a southern states organization which is 99 percent Democrat. If you are capable of thinking do you really think there are any Conservatives under those sheet?

I consider myself to be quite Conservative, and I support Every ones rights, I just don't Think everyone deserves special protections under the law because of what ever they are, no one should have more opportunities or less because of their race or sexual preference, assaulting someone is a crime why make it worse just because of the Label society has placed on them.

I look at Gay marriage like this:
Does it affect my life? No.
Does it affect my Marriage? No.
Should it bother me if two men (or women) get married if the answer to the first 2 questions is no? No.

Conservatives aren't "wrong" on social issues so much as they have differing opinions on those social issues. The very concept of "conservative" is "slower to change" (definition, not political wise), so it makes sense that all of them might not be on the front end of changes... and that some liberals may seem WAY too far out there on the same changes!

Fact: The conservatives didn't form the KKK. It was the early version of the democratic party who formed it.
