Go to book store."Magick for beginers" by J.H.Brennen.Gives you the how to clean and enchant.Here's a hint about what your looking for with a pentacle,most of us have this crazy idea that it represents Isis(venus)and Ra(the sun) not a goat.

give it a good satlwater bath to clean it.
put a bit of salt in a clear glass, put the penticle in it. and leave it in a window where it can get sunlight through most of the day.
after that ask any gods that you believe in to place a blessing on it. burning some sage while doing so will help. i usually pass mine through the smoke from the sage 3 times after asking for the blessings to empower it.
without knowing your belief structure i cannot go very much further. i will look back, later.

Without knowing your belief structure I cannot give you accurate information, that I could be sure, would be in sync with that belief structure.
