I have a 1984 box set of USFL football cards, it includes rookie cards for Steve Young, Hershel Walker, Reggie White and Jim Kelly, does anybody have any idea what they are worth? Are they worth more in a set, or seperate? I saw one card on e-bay going for over 2,000 dollars, and then the same card for 40 bucks. Please help.

Wow, that is very valuable. It is more worth individually but If I were you I would sell it as a set. As a set it is worth $300.00 according to Beckett magazine. I would sell it as a set because if you sell it individually you will only be able to sell a few of those cards for a lot of money. I think that some cards are going for $2,000 and some are going for $40.00 is because the cards that cost more money are in better condition and graded. Here is a price of a few of the cards according to Beckett Magazine

Jim Kelly XRC $80.00
Steve Young XRC $120.00
Reggie White XRC $60.00
Herschel Walker XRC $25.00

I looked on eBay for sets of USFL cards. The problem is that some people put the opening bid artificially high, and no one is bidding on them. So it's hard to figure out the exact value (although you probably could go back to completed sales and get a round number).

The rule usually is that card sets are worth more separately than together. So if you sell Steve Young, Jim Kelly, etc., individually, your bank account will get more cash in it. However, doing it that was is something of a pain in terms of time and effort. I preferred to sell baseball cards as a set. One sale, and I was done.

You can either go to like wal-mart or whatever and get either a Beckett baseball card priceguide magazine, or a Tuff Stuff price guide. Uhm... exactly how much are you asking for them? i would look then up first.. i used to collect cards and wouldn't want to screw anybody out of any money... so yeah, i would look them up first, before i sold any of them.. because some error cards and rookie cards could be worth a few bucks if nothing else. If they gave you over 100,000 cards.. there is bound to be something hidden in there somewhere - Good luck bro.

Ok, sounds like you got some good cards. If you find out that one of your cards is worth alot and is valueable, I suggest getting it "graded" by Beckett. If youre a card collector, you should of heard of them. They have there own website and magazine. For 10 Bucks, they will grade your card on a 1-10 scale. If a card gets 8.5 or above, it will increase the value becuase buyers will know that it is a good card and are getting there moneys worth. Or you can always find a dealer or sports cards shop. Id only sell them as a bunch if i was looking to get rid of them. If you wanna keep a couple, sell them in singles.Hope this will help.
