There were Mustangs starting in '64. All cars then had carburetters instead of fuel injection. Trucks had straight front axles. All cars were rear wheel drive. Fuel pumps were mechanical drive off the camshaft. The distributors weren't electronic. Most manual trannies were 3 speed instead of 5 or 6. A good tire would only last about 30,000 miles. Steering wheels were bigger for leverage before power steering. Some of the car companies that have vanished are AMC, Studebaker, DeSoto, Hudson, Tucker, and Henry-J.

I had a 66 Mustang, boy do I miss it.
My brother still has his 56 or 57 Chevy in his garage. Still runs.
One of the last drive-ins down the road from me is now being converted to a new housing tract. We used to pile the kids in the car and get to see a double feature for a couple of bucks.
Drive-Inn restaurants: Mel's, A & W, and the rest are going by the wayside.
How appropo with the Hot August Nights is now starting up in Reno this week.
Have you ever driven RT 66, ? I have, fun trip.
Those were the good old days, Todays kids don't know what they are missing. THe cars, they don't make them like that anymore. Thanks for the nastalgia trip.

My first car was a well used 52 Ford coupe. The car I loved best was a 57 President Hawk.

Cool! I was a kid so I didn't drive then. But I like the looks of the PT Cruiser. That is the closest I'll get to vintage in this day and time.

That was a cool site! I remember my dad had a Kaiser. It had buffaloes in the push button door openers and in the middle of the horn! Never seen another one!
