Because we are talking about Myth, do you consider "The Force" a valid ability....

Depending on your training you have the ability to do several things; control thoughts, manipulate objects, run fast, high jump and even learn how to live on after death in a cool electric glow of your former self. Not bad for a single ability.

However, if you do not consider the "The Force" valid, then I would have to pick Immortality.

Being Immortal would offer me the chance to see the world through many perspectives and times.

Could you imagine:

1. Being able to watch the Rise and the Fall of the Roman Empire

2.Being able to walk with Jesus and watch as he did his work on Earth, first hand

3.Seeing the New World be colonized and watching the birth of New York and other great metropolis cities.

4. Being there as the birth of our Declaration of Independence was drafted

5. Being there when NASA broadcast the announcement "The Eagle has landed"

I know it would not be all fun and games, and that along with seeing a lot of good I would be forced to observe all the bad too. But, just to be there for ALL of it would offer you a very unique perspective to offer the world...that is, if you used the abiltiy for the greater good!

Like Stan Lee wrote in Spiderman, 'with great power comes great responsiblity'

Sure, you would be a big target for extremist, but I refer back to Stan Lee's comment.

The possibilites are endless...just imagine!

I would have to choose the ability/power of immortality, that way i would be able to live life forever and see how the world develops, granted eventually it would become boring but i would really appreciate it since i love to see history and would love to experiance everything this world has to offer. Having immortality would be the best possible thing for me, I would like it if the immortality could be given to another person should i ever decide i did not wish to be immortal anymore. Not like being immortal would ever happen to me but it would be nice. If i couldnt have immortality then id like to be able to go newhere in time. It would be cool to see how ancient societies were and how the future would be.

The ability to make any person feel the emotion and pain of any other person. Just think how much you could change violence, hunger, illness and such by having people with political power feel the hurt of others.

to control time
Think about it you could stop time go shopping, you could save that little kid that got murdered, you could win at the Alamo, etc. and if any of it turned out bad you could just go back and fix it, it could be fun.
what would it be like if Hitlers mother miscarried? What would it be like if the Nina sank on its way here? what would happen if the twin towers had forewarning? the possibilities are endless. Not to mention winning the power ball a couple times.
You could even abolish slavery before it begins.

telekinesis. this is the most useful and powerful super power. it can be both defensive and offensive. You can avoid being attack by your enemies by keeping them being in distant. You can keep throwing them and sending them fly. You can also do a great damage to your enemies by throwing sharp objects or heavy objects. For defensive mode, you can make telekinetic shield that can stop any projectiles (including bullets) from hitting you.

and you can use it to lift up heavy things to help people. this ability also allows you to fly. how? if theoretically telekinesists can not lift themselves for the reason that we cannot lift our bodies, we can use some help. we can lift up a platform and ride it!

To become immaterial whenever I choose. Being simply invisible isn't good enough, because you would still physically be there, and could be injured, even though you couldn't be seen. But to be immaterial would be cool, because you could pass through walls, fly, not be hurt, not confined to any physical restraints. It would be the ultimate super-power.

Knowing the right answers to these and other complex questions about life and death seems reasonable for now. Because it seems to make more sense to know the truth than to live a lie.
