I love being a grandmother. My grand-daughter is 3 years old. She is the spliting image of her mother. I feel like I'm raising my daughter all over again.

The best thing about being a grandparent is obvious. I have to show the ugly side of being a grandparent.
My son got his girlfriend pregnant right after high school. He had a great job, making a lot of money so he took good care of her. The problem was that he worked out of town a lot. She cheated on him and they broke up.
I got to see my grandson only when she needed a babysitter, and my son got to see his son twice in a year.
After a year and a half of court battles over visitation,my son got visitation. The girl was so angry that she packed up my beautiful grandson and moved half way across the US. No one in my family has seen him since. He's 3 now and the last picture I have of him was taken when he was a year old. Hopefully, someday he'll want to know about his fathers side of his family.

Being a grandparent for several younguns has got to be one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. I love all of my grandchildren very much (oldest being 4 yrs old).
The one thing that I can't stand however, is when one of these children is used for gain. Without going into specifics, we have one grandchild that is used this way and since there is nothing that we can do about it, we are forced to sit and watch.

Best: I can love them all I want, then send them home to mama.
Least: I see them making SO many mistakes raising my grandchildren, but their parents do NOTHING about their child's behavior.
If I had known how much fun it was to be a grandparent, I would have had the grands first, lol!

The thing I love best is just knowing that there is another branch sprouting on the family tree. The thing I like least is that the sprout is so far away.
