If (when) the Yankees are eliminated, I'd like to see the media -- print and cast -- take ONE day to overwhelmingly indulge their need for Yankees stories. Whatever the spin -- Behold The Doom Of Overspending, No Team Chemistry, The End Of An Era, Steinbrenner Suffers Stroke, Faith Of A Nation Shaken, Behead Cashman And Torre Now!, Why ARod Is Not MVP, even a We Wuz Robbed! whinefest -- whatever crap they want to spew, go and do it, take one day, and then SHUT UP about the Yankees for the rest of the postseason. NO mention of the Yankees until the day after the trophy is handed over. Don't even hire any Yankees as commentators (especially not Torre; I'd like an October without seeing that craggy, dour visage on the teevee).
Now that would be sweet.

Yes. The Yankees will flop later this season. The Tigers and Indians will improve. They have been both struggling the past few weeks. I say Indians, Tigers, Angels and Red Sox for the AL in the playoffs

Yes that would be nice. I'm not taking anything away from what the Yankees have done but if there was a year for them to miss the playoffs it is now. Hopefully the Red Sox and Indians get hot and the Tigers stay good enough to keep them out of the wild card race.

Yes, it would, but you do realize ESPN and everyone else broadcasting games in the play-offs, would find a way to mention the Yankees? Example: "The (fill in the blank) are World Champions! By the way, the Yankees are looking to find bullpen help in the off season!"
