The Golden Rule is a method to help us determine how to behave toward each other. The Golden Rule assumes that we think that we are all brothers and sisters, meaning that we think that God is the father of us all.

The GR is proactive in that it says not just to not harm others, but to do good for them just as you would want them to do good for you. If you just do others no harm, that is the Silver Rule, a much weaker rule.
