I want to make my own baby food, but I also like the convenience of the very tiny baby food jars you can get in the stores. A obvious choice would be to buy some of those, feed them, and then just rinse and reuse, which I will do if I can't find another option. I just figured it would be cheaper if I could find somewhere that sells tiny glass jars like that. Anyone know of a place?

Thanks!

One Step Ahead sells "baby cubes" http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=68760&parentCategoryId=85181&categoryId=85206. They were so convenient when I was making my daughter's pureed food.

For storing your babyfood long term, its fine to freeze it. It should last around a month. One idea is to freeze babyfood like you can freeze expressed breastmilk. After cooking them, pop them into ice cube trays (with a lid), and once frozen put them in reseaable bags (with very clean hands!) Remember how much each cube is roughly (like a spoonful), so you can figure out how much to thaw for each feeding. That, or you could just pop each feeding amount in single containers. I In the fridge, it can last 2-3 days. If you've baby's eaten off the spoon thats been dipped into the food, throw it all out - the bacteria from his mouth can make it go off much quicker. Good luck!

I have some little ziplock containers that are the size of glass baby food jars. You can probably get them at walmart but I am not sure where we got them.

Small freezer zipper bags one use and toss them .
I wouldn't try ti reuse a jar too many times -better safe than sorry.
The freezer bags with press and seal zips work the best for me .

They also sell little plastic Rubbermaid containers. If you use little glass jars you need to sterilize them first.

Store the food in the freezer in ice cube trays. When you are ready to use it, move it to a dish.
