we do. aluminum and tin cans, newspaper, grocery bags, glass jars, milk jugs, 2 liter bottles, paperboard, cardboard.... my husband has to lug it 40 miles away, too, to a place near where he works.
we are a family of 5, we ALWAYS have less trash at the curb than our neighbors, no matter how big their family is.

Yes. In our town, the garbage collector will only take garbage that is in a special garbage bag (which costs 60¢ for a small and over a dollar for a large)....or you can recycle certain items, (plastic, paper, metal, glass), in a small blue plastic bin.
Also, in our state, there is a 5¢ deposit on soda pop & beer cans/bottles. I try to recycle AMAP.

Almost anyone living in, around, or near metropolitan areas is required to recycle by state regulations.
Small towns and rural areas aren't always required to recycle.
We recycle all plastic bottles, aluminum cans, glass and paper/cardboard.

Everything I can. Some stuff we have to haul to the next town 30 miles away so we have to wait till we are making a trip. it seems kind of counterproductive burning$3.15/ gal. gas to recycle something. If our town were set up for it I would do more.

In my area (North Carolina) we can recycle newspaper, glass bottles, tin cans and plastic bottles. I do. I wish that we could also recycle paper products but so far they are not offering that here.

My family recycles paper, aluminum and plastic. It's easy and they pick it up when they pick up the trash, so why not??
Cheers!
