I participated initially because I came across it at work and it was a neat way to spend the time (all my co-workers got into it). Sometimes when people ask dumb questions I give dumb answers, but for the most part I choose to answer questions with an honest, informative response. I have asked a few questions myself, and have learned that not everyone is as ignorant as they act. I've had a few heated discussions with some users (thru email), but if I could change something it would be to not allow some people to participate when they breach ther rules and give racist or derogatory questions or answers.

I like dispensing advice and nobody will give me an advice column. :-(

Plus, it's good to be able to ask questions that pop into my mind and get quick feedback. I wouldn't use it to make major life decisions, though. Yesterday I learned that you can substitute regular, but not diet, margerine for shortening and make bread come out fine.

If I could change something, I think I'd make it so that if an answer gets reported as abuse by 3 different users, it automatically disappears until whoever makes the final decision about these sorts of things gets around to looking at it.

I am here for a little diversion from stress and to enjoy other people's thoughts and opinions. I have learned that they are some incredibly wonderful people here and some extremely disturbed ones.
I would change the amount of times you could keep coming back. I think if you keep getting deleted, they should ban you from re-joining.

I'm here for both, the questions and answers and the friends.
What have I learned? I've learned to watch out for trolls & reporters because it's very easy to get an account suspended.

i have made some really cool friends.. people i may never meet in this lifetime.. but value none-the-less..

i guess if i could take one thing back i would have stayed far away from a little avatar head with the name litldragon!!
caused me nothing but trouble!!
but now i know better, and i'm still ok.. so i guess it was just a learning lesson..
remember people can portray themselves as anything on a computer!!

would have defiantly stayed away from asking or answering anything suggestive or smutty... i feel like such a street walker..LOL!!!! ;)

I'm here to get answers to my own questions that I ask in real life and think to myself, I bet someone out there on the internet knows.
And sometimes when I'm bored and surfing the net I will come on an answer questions.
Actually, yahoo answers is a really smart idea for getting people together and finding out what people think. You can get diverse answers from people of all age groups and cultures. Pretty useful! As for making it better...I dunno, it could give me candy everytime I am chossen for best answer! :)

To seek answers, get opinions, but unfortunately no one seems to think my questions are worth answering =/

Some people have too much time on their hands, which is only a crime if they would rather spend trolling than learning proper english.

ive had my share of best answers, so i wouldnt change a thing about them. i only seek equal earnestness in the answers i get.

i participate cuz i'm bored. i'm not here to make friends. the answers i have gotten don't really help me. if i could change somethings it would have to be to elimate the girls that ask if they're fat and the ones that know nothing about getting their periods. seriously, if you go into the women's health section, it's all about aunt flo, sex and 'am i fat.' the questions these girls ask are just so dumb, i don't know where they get their info from - but instead of asking the Q again, they should just look up resolved Qs...

I'm here to help keep my mind sharp. Answering the questions makes me think, and writing the answers helps me be creative. I usually come here when I'm bored.

Make friends?? I didn't even know that was one of the reasons anyone comes here.
