Anyone can do poetry if they put their minds to it. I believe you can do anything you set your mind to. There may be some critics, but if you believe it's good, then by God you're the best there is. I hope this has helped you in some way.

I would if I were you. Ole Billy Boy does a pretty good job of the poetry around here, but I am not much of a poet, and I know it.lol.

No, the great thing about poetry is that anyone can do it...and in reality, there are no rules to it. There are styles and techniques that are often used, but those are more like...guidelines ;)
