There wasn't enough oil in the mix of my blower. I got it all apart. I haven't had a 2 cycle engine apart in years. There is no reed valves. The piston looks burned and flaky on top. Do I need to replace the piston or just the ring? Anything else? Thanks for any help.

I have gotten by with just replacing the rings. If the cylinder and piston are scored it won't do much good to just replace the rings. New rings will probably get you another season out of it and they are cheap.
