I feel like as long as the "religions" or denominations are based on the same principle beliefs, then there should not be a problem. as a Christian, I have certain beliefs, and I don't know that I could be with someone who believed that there was no God. the only time religion should be an issue is if there is conflicting beliefs. it should be addressed and decided if they can live with the difference, make a compromise, or if there is no way it can work out. also, if you have questions about your partner's religion, I think you should go see a clergy who could answer your questions, help you find all the information you need, and then address the situation. there is no need to fight over the unknowns. as long as both people believe in the same thing, God sent his son to die on the Cross for your sins, then that is all that matters. how each person decides to worship is something else, and is inconsequential to the relationship. but I can't see where a Christian can live a life devoted to a person who believes in karma, dharma, reincarnation, and all of that. that is two different belief systems, and one should convert, whichever they decide. it's tough to explain, but I hope you get my point.

I would like to inform you that there is a vast meaning for the word Love. Only the love on God is the true love which is unconditional. The other types of love we usually use this word is not compared to the Original Love. Love in the physical proximity in other words between two human beings may be a girl and her friend only an attraction. The love from parents to their children is only affection and vice versa all these love is condtional and everybody expects some thing from other. But the LOVE told by the Religion is unconditional. With loving the fellow human beings without any expectations is the Real Love. So we should not compare this Divine love with our temporary attractions with Girl friends, etc..etc..God is ONE is only Thank You

God said in the scriptures to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. There is a good reason for it. If you have a strong relationship with the Lord and you are in a relationship with someone who doesn't, it is so hard to keep a strong relationship with both God and that person pulling you in the opposite direction. When both husband and wife have a strong relationship with God the marriage is naturally stronger. It has nothing to do with religion. There are a lot of religious activities out there that people think will get them to heaven, but in the end they are still left feeling empty. The reason God said not to be unequally yoked with an unbeliever is because He does love us and does not want us to experience the hardships we do by not following His commands. Been married 17 years and God is the foundation of our lives.

It's as simple as this: the Bible says" Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers" If one person is a believer and one is NOT or has another type of faith where the belifs are DIFFERENT then YES, you will have conflict." How can two walk together lest they agree" If the two are on the same " way " to God then there should be no problem because God is NOT about confusion, especially in the name of LOVE

What you are referring to is Religion, but not necessarily Christianity. A couple who have been brought up in a particular religion obviously wants his/her mate to be of the same religion. If they happen to be different, then there is a choice to made if the marriage is to be in a church. And they need to agree where to attend church or maybe alternately attend each others church. People who are in love, do make these decisions for themselves and it is of no concern to anyone else. The church we attend doesn't matter if we have made a commitment to serve God. All obstacles will work out.

Because religion is crap. It's believing in your creator that matters but people are so brainwashed by their religions that they let it control their lives. I had a friend who was raised JW, when we were 16 she got pregnant and her step-dad beat her up and threw her down the stairs, she ended up hospitalized,. she didn't lose the baby, her best friends family took her in, her real family excommunicted her, now tell me, does that seem Godly to you? In the Bible, Jesus took in a harlet and forgave her for her sins, but this religion (JW) insists they are the ones who will be saved, and they ex-communicate their families for bringing children into the world? If you read the second testament, it says that church was a tent where you worshipped GOD, but nowdays it's a place to listen to people preach what you should and shouldn't do. If God intended on us being condemned for our mistakes he would not have given us the ability to make such choices.

Yes, God is love and his love is unconditional meaning you don't have to earn his love but there are conditions to faith, salvation and righteousness in the teachings of Christianity. I believe that doctrine divides and makes it an issue. The doctrinal beliefs of Christianity for example would tend to separate the doctrine of other teachings because they don't line up with the bible which is the basis for Christianity as the quran is for the basis of the Muslem beliefs. It makes it very difficult for people who have conflicting beliefs to raise their children in these conflicting views of which is the true and living God.

I think it is the people involved that make it a bigger issue. There is only One God! So, if you believe in God, everyone believes in the same God with just little differences on how they feel they should pray, worship, etc.
