That would be giving away too much information Mr Frew but I did say thankyou this morning to a very kind and thoughtful person who I have never met. Work that one out hey?

yes, it acknowledges someone has gifted something to you, no matter how small, they put you first. Counting your blessings with thanks brings joy to your spirit. Saying please is showing others respect and the fact you are not taking them for granted.

I said a big thank you to God today. On moving from a parking spot I could have turned left or right to go home. Unusually I went left, then my mobile rang. Being an extremely hot sunshiny day I was so grateful I was prompted to take a left as I was able to pull up in the shade to take important call. The right turn would have provided no stopping place and no shade and no opportunity to answer call. So thank you Lord.

I always say 'please' and 'thank you'.

The last 'thank you' I said, and truly, genuinely meant, would have been to a friend a few days ago-- he sent an email to make sure that my family and I are okay after the bridge collapsed (we live in Minneapolis, he's in San Francisco). I thanked him for caring enough to check on us.

Yes, I still say please and thank you. I think no matter how old you are you still should have manners.

The last time I said thank you was when my fiance let me have a sip of her drink.

Yes I do to be polite and make sure the kids say it.
But I rareley ever mean thankyou.just say it to be polite.
I only mean it when I am truly thankful.
I last said it to someone on ebay-asking about buying something and put thanks at the end but to be honest didnt want to coz Id already sent em a few emails and they were doing my head in...just said it coz I wantd something from them which was out of stock at the mo...

So in short I rareley mean it but always say it(thankyou) to be polite....and thinking about it its quite rare I ever say please but I always make my girls say it!!!
my bad?!

Note that all the answerers here that Ive said "I always say it...etc" are the ones who have not been polite enough to say thanks to you!!

So I am PLEASEd to answer your question.THANKYOU for the opportunity!!

xx

This morning, every time I ask my kid to do something I say, "Please do this and that and then I say, "Thank you" at the end. That is showing that will have good manners. When they grow up they will be a respectful gentlemen.
