Ya, and its even nastier when you've peed beforehand! Then that water gets on you!

Yes it has happened
but I found a way to counter it, put a few sheets of toilet paper in bowl before you start it makes the splash less

Haha thats gross. But yea that sucks, i hate that. I also hate when you flush the toilet and it splashes on you, for some reason that seems worse to me and i heard that poop particules float around an can get on your tooth brush... yumm wet poop butt and tooth brush!

It's fairly common if the water in the bowl is higher than normal, and / or the poop is denser than normal.
