Largest amount of Video RAM you can get.
Gaming + Laptop = NOT CHEAP.
You will not find a good reliable gaming laptop for under $1200

There are no good gaming laptops under 500 dollars not even under a 1000 dollars there is a asus best buy sell about 900 dollars gaming at medium settings

Try a Dell 1520 with a core 2 duo CPU, 2GBs of RAM,a 160 HD, and a NV8600GT.

You should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092, since it has Intel Centrino, which is great for gaming.

check your game's website for their forums and help lists -- see what laptop videos are KNOWN to work and which are known to fail.
