I NEVER put my chidren's pictures on the interenet. In fact, I only ever tell people the age and number of children if I am personally chatting with them. Someone tagged me with photos and one was of me and my kids. I emailed them and said that I LOVED the photos. And inquired about the one that I really liked of them in a field. Than I mentioned that I don't put my kids photos on the interenet and asked them to delete it. Now this family member just untagged ALL the photos and never said anything. I am wondering if they are mad again? ( everytime I tell him to stop telling me I'm weird and make fun of me for being different than him, he gets mad at me for not taking a joke). Now I am wondering if he is upset again... is this wierd to not tolerate any of my kids pictures online (unless I send them in an email)??

To not post info, pictures of your kids, family and yourself to me is the wisest thing one can do.

I keep all of my info to a very bare minimum for security, cause there is someone around every corner just looking for a sucker.

You can wake up this family member by spending $50 with your attorney and having them send a letter of cease action or legal action will be pursued. More or less a hollow threat letter, but 98% of people back off instantly due to fears of thousands in attorney fee's on their behalf.

Protecting your own children should be taken at the highest level of security.

Well, it depends what way you look at it!

Most parents or some would not want pics of their children on the internet, especially if young for safety reasons. For example, not to attract pedophilles and such. As images nowadays can easily be manipulated with graphics programs and used in the wrong manner which I prefer not to mention. Now if the kids are 14+ then there shouldn't be a reason for not allowing images online unless if you have a daughter. If it is boy then they might think that is absurd, since most people do not care that much!

Now if you simply don't want to allow imgs on internet simply because you do not what, then is when people think you are paranoid!

Now all I have to say, do be cautious but not to such an extreme be in between not at any extreme at all. I can also tell you this much that it is not good to raise children in such extremes such over-protection as it may pose negatively. Research has shown if they grow up with over-protection, once they are free they want to do everything and sometimes do alot of crazy things and bad. So always be in the middle!

One example was Hitler who was raised in over-protection and which they believe lead him to being what he did become!

No, it's completely rational. There are too many risks involved in doing so. By having your childrens' pictures on the interenet, it leaves them vulnerable to all the pedophiles and otherwise shady characters that want nothing more than to do them harm. It's an unfortunate reality. You're 100% right in not wanting your childrens' pictures on the internet. In fact, I applaud you. Keep up the great parenting.

I totally agree with you! I am the same way, there are so many weirdo's out there, I don't want pics of my kids to be for the public eye either. You just never know who's looking, my opinion better to be safe than sorry!

Pictures on the internet can be easily altered to make it look like something you would not even like to discuss.

I would NEVER put a child's picture on the internet.

If you decide to let them go on face book or myspace make sure they go under nick names and diffrent last names and make up a diffrent adress nothing that will link you and if the public decides to view it it's not right anyway :)

Not weird, just being a protective parent. They are your children, if that is your way of trying to protect them, it causes no harm, and is your right.
