No, starting wars is a flawed strategy and has been shown to be over the last 100 years. Attacking Iran would destabilize the middle east even more than we already have and lead to further chaos.

Germany( ww2) - big losers
Japan(ww2) - big losers
Soviet Union (afghanistan) - losers- led to the downfall of the soviet union
United States(iraq) - losers ( 1 trillion dollars wasted and increased terrorism)

A war with Iran will be far more destructive, destablizing, and expensive than the Iraq war.

The best way to prevent nuclear weapons use remains to be MAD. Every person involved in launching/using a nuclear weapon against the United States or an ally does so with the full knowledge that they, their family, their country, and/or religion will no longer exist after such an act.

specific i'm going to be happy I supported Israel no remember what. what's sturdy is sturdy no remember if that's on your egocentric activity or not. that's that style of cowardliness that allowed the Holocaust in the 1st place. to boot I not often think of that the Russians are going to pass out on a limb for Iran on an ideological foundation. Russia helps Iran simply by fact Iran is a good shopper and it makes comparatively cheap experience for Russia to help Iran. Russia additionally likes that Iran is an predicament to the U. S.. If Russia the place to nuke the U. S. it does not help them economically, it could injury them as much as each and each guy or woman else. to boot Russia additionally supported Iraq earlier the conflict and we ain't been nuked yet.

We have to think long term and not just attack, most all Iran's neighbors and most of the world fear and hate this fanatical Islamic government of Iran acquiring these weapons just cannot happen, first target Israel, the decent and sane (masses) of Iran must remove this government if we were to strike so they can become free and friendly with the west and their neighbors for decades to come.

Remember, Iran was one of our best friends in the mid east before the Hardcore Islamics took power.

I am in no way in favor of Iran having nuclear weapons, with that said, I also am not in favor of ANY country having them either!
But..... who in the frell do we think we are (the U.S.) to be able to tell other countrys what they can and can not have? Do other countrys tell us what we can and can not have, and if they do, don't we just ignore them anyway?
The United States has turned into a bully! We tell other countrys they can't have the things we have and if they try, we swoop in and bloody their noses!
We do this cause we fear they may use such weapons against us, but don't you think that THEY think the same thing and this may be one reason they are trying to get these weapons?
The U.S. is just as guilty as any other country for the currant state of political uneasiness that now exists in this world!

No. Iran is not a threat to the United States at this time. And simply because Bush, Cheney and the rest of the neocons want to use the Iranian nuclear program--which has NOT been shown to be weapons research--as another pretext for murdering people does not jsutify any such attack.

There is no moral or legal basis for any such "preemptive war." And the delusional paranoia of the right-wing isn't going to change that.

Sure -- and while we're at it, we might as well attack any other countries that don't have nukes -- just to make sure they never do.

[end sarcasm]

Attacking a country because we don't like what they may decide to do in the future is what has gotten the US the most hated of any country in the world .....

It's not our job to be the global police. So, unless someone attacks us, we have NO authority -- legal or moral -- to attack them first.

Sally no nuclear weapons where ever found in Iraq. It was an excuse for Bush to invade the country. Bush has expressed disappointment that no weapons or weapons programs were found, plus no weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq. But the sad thing is Bush lead the American people to believe this that there was weapons of mass destructions.

The only one we'd be doing a favor for would be Israel. We are already fighting a war for them by proxy in Iraq. How long before Americans realize that we have been and are willing puppets for the right wing in Israel?
