Yes, it's a political stunt -- but then, most political processes are stunts since they are more concerned with looking good than getting anything done.

Whether it will succeed or fail depends on what the defined objectives are -- this one event probably won't have a major change, but it may move the process forward toward some mutual resolution.

No its not if you go back to the administration's statements before the 9-11 tragedy they had already expressed hope into brokering a two state deal. But at that time Palestinians were still not ready to deal with Israel and casting their lot with the terrorists. After 9-11 other things took priority.

Yes, it is a publicity stunt to distract the people from their real agenda.

It will be a failure mostly because there are no real intentions of getting anything done and Secretary of State Rice has yet to and probably never will get a deal sealed.

Why will it be a failure? Because Israel is surrounded by savages who are bent on her total destruction. May Israel see the folly of the "peace process" once and for all and achieve true peace by wiping out her enemies.
