I don't know what channel you watch it on but here in asia I watch it in espnstar.. Did anyone else notice that in q3 of qualifying they only showed either mclaren or ferrari for most of it? Towards the end there were some shots of bmw and honda cars but that was it.... i would say that about 85 percent of q3 was on ferrari and mclaren cars, they were considerate enough to post the times of the other teams on screen but the only other time i saw other cars was at the end of it...

What we see is being control by the race director. he choose which camera on the circuit (or driver's on board cam) to be broadcasted. So I believe it's the same for all channel around the world.

But yes, as you've pointed out, the director usually focus on top teams, simply because that's where the majority of viewers focus their attention on

That's one of the things that always bugs me about F1, they completely disregard all but 4 cars. They do it in the race coverage too. In the broadcasters defense however, they cover who is relevant. And if you're not in a Ferrari or McClaren... you're just fighting to look up a Ferrari or McClaren's butt the whole race.

we would have seen what you saw. it is all the same coverage worldwide, its just with different commentators. i did notice and i wondered if it was all down to this spy stuff. obviously the media want to keep it in the foreground, when al we really want to do is watch the action on the track from all teams involved

it all depends on the what the director wants. lets say if we go to japan, they might want to focus on honda, toyota and super aguri instead..
