It is not wrong to show affection to a girlfriend with kissing.

in a serious relationship, between a couple engaged to be married, hugging and "heavy" kissing is not wrong either.

Having said that, if an unmarried couple chooses to show their affection to each other in this manner, they are responsible for not violating the Christian Virtue of Chastity - even if/when the couple has aroused itself to the point of serious temptation.

uhm.. i think kissing is considered sexual behavior. i have a peer groups class in my catholic high school and they talk about what 'sex' really is. there are different categories- its pretty hard to explain, but it basically branches out. some people think of sex as virginity. but then virginity is divided based on what people feel virginity is. for example, some people believe that oral sex isnt really sex, and if you have oral sex, youre still considered a virgin. other people feel differently. kissing is sexual activity, in my opinion, and since sex, in the catholic church, is only to be experienced with a spouse, i think kissing is considered more of a foreplay, not totally innocent, but not sex.

I believe that this is consider lustful behavior , not love or affection, as a regular lip kiss. For a more accurate answer, consult a priest.

Well if your not married it is said to be a sin. So anyone who performs any form of relations outside of marriage is sinning.

One should not desire physical sensual satisfaction in sexual relations but a desire to procreate. Anything done to inhance sexual satisfaction is a distraction from the desire to do God's will, which is to conceive.
