The equation of a straight line is y = mx + c.
where:
m is the gradient/slope
x is a coordinate
and c is the y intercept.
in the case of 6x - y = 3, u need to re-arrange the equation so that y is the subject.
(+y) = 6x = 3 + y
(- 3) = y = 6x - 3
Another way of re-arranging it:
(- 6x) = -y = 3 - 6x
but as you want y, not negative y, as the subject, you can multiply the entire equation by -1, which gives you:
y = 6x - 3
then you need to find the gradient.
So you go back to the straight line equation, of y = mx + c.
We want to find m, the gradient or slope.
in the case of y = 6x - 3, the gradient or slope therefore must be 6.
once you know the equation for y, then all you need to do is substitute the values for m, x, and c. You can then find any of them, wether it is m (gradient or slope), x (an x coordinate), or c (the y intercept of the line).

u know the formula y=mx + n which m refers to slope...
Then the job is trying to write the equation in this form.
y = 6x - 3
m=6 is the slope

Finding slope is so much fun! I don't like most math, but this should be pretty easy. Put any number you want for x, and then solve for y. You should do this three times with three different numbers, and then your math book should tell you how to do the rest.
