NO. Casting directors are looking for all different types of people. Besides, everybody has a different opinion on what makes a person pretty. A person's looks do have a lot to do with landing a role, but the most important thing is that you look the way the directors wanted the character to look. GOOD LUCK!

No, trust me believe it or not, a lot of actresses and actors aren't handsome or beautiful AT ALL!
The actors always have makeup on. Not the type of make up like lip stick, but a toner for skin products to hide, any pimples, rashes, and beauty marks.
The only thing that directors look for is experience!
Look for a training school near you TODAY! and apply to it. The more training you get the better you get!

Hope this helps,
and as long as you think you are beautiful on the inside the directors will see you beautiful on the outside.
Be confident and HAVE FUN!

Your first answer is pretty good. If you watch a lot of films, you will see that there are plenty of supoporting roles that do not require exquisite beauty. If you have acting ability and you have something unique about you, you have a great chance to succeed.

That is relative. They always 'type' for film roles and it lots of things depend on your 'type' and every director is going to have a different idea of what that is. Someone may find you exquisitely beautiful, someone might think you pretty, someone might be neutral on and on.....if you want to audition then just go for it. Lots of women are 'unconventionally beautiful' think about Meryl Streep. Best to you!
