"Scattered Showers" means spotty showers. You can literally have rain on your house without your neighbor getting any of the rain. Mostly, it means that they are unpredictable little pockets of rain and they can hit anywhere, anytime, for a short duration.

absolutely not. depending on geography. in the summer in the south it means few and far between. They pop up due to humidity and jet stream. Often if there's not a strong jet stream, the storms pop up and stay there for a while then die down without having moved at all. However, if you're talking about other times of the year, scattered showers can mean passing showers but still doesn't mean quickly passing showers. That is solely dependent on wind currents and elevation.

no. Normally, showers that pass by quickly are the ones tht are thunderstorms or an isolated storm. The more powerful the storm, the quicker it passes. Scattered showers are just that. Scattered, but they last a while. They are generally small in size. They form, and discintergrate easily

Scattered Showers means there will be showers in some areas but not in others. Like, if you take the percentage chance of rain, you have to calculate the size of the area and divy it up. The entire area won't be pouring rain all at once.

Yeah, it means only certain points in a geographic area will actually get showers. Very spotty and typically don't last long.
