she is seeing into the "paranormal life." Thats fine! Thats actually really cool! Maybe a ghost or a "Spirit" is trying to tell her their life story. I'd listen and pay attention, could make for a great movie !

Just remember everything is real. It sounds creepy but spirits pass through people.

Hope i helped!!

Take some time to get all the detail and write down the main specific points of what she is seeing, example:

man
cigarette
smoke
face
spider
crawls
wall

Determine if they are person, action, object, etc --- and get a dream dictionary and see if it tells a story at all.

On dream I had, I kept waking up in a 2nd floor apartment with the fire alarm going off and I'd have to run down the stairs...by piecing it out with the dream dictionary I pretty much figured that it was telling me that in order to find the root cause to my issues I'd need to go deeper into my subconscious -- or that I was already doing that.

Waking visions can be handled in the same manner. Another thing to consider is that she is not seeing a spirit but residual energy --- that he is in the same spot every time and the same thing happens over and over again; it could be a 'marker' of events that somebody left in order for somebody to figure out the message....pay attention to where the spider is going into the wall, etc and do an inspection of the house, ground and so forth.

>The man then turns into a spider and crawls along the wall. She is sure that this is not a dream.

And this makes you reasonably sure, too? Have you ever heard of...wait for it...SCIENCE and LOGIC? It is scientific fact that just about everybody has strange dreams once in a while and that there are many thousands of people who even have hallucinations when not asleep, but scientists have NEVER found ANYONE who could turn into a spider. So given those FACTS, tell me, which is more likely: Your friend's daughter is dreaming and/or hallucinating, or thousands of physicists and biologists managed to somehow totally overlook a huge gaping hole in their theories? You have a brain, use it.

How old is she? Are there any paranormal experiences? Try to get a "ghostbuster" to check the place ... no kidding there are people they provide cleansing of houses etc. Depends on your religion, you may ask a priest or someone with spiritual experience. But someone whom you trust or who your friends maybe know. Well, no matter what people write here, there are things "in between" we can experience from time to time, even scientists cannot deny, various theories were changed through times .. string theory etc. even Einstein didnt deny existence of energies that cannot be seen or proved by our technology. That some people dont see everything, doesnt mean it doesnt exist or it cannot be seen at all. 150 years ago nobody could imagine that you can see through your body, now nobody gets excited about x-ray. Well, till you cleanse the place through someone professional, keep your daughter from there, but dont behave too scared. Fear doesnt help anyway, it may be harmless, it may be some rest energy. Just handle it with pragmatic.

I hate to be a wet blanket since there is so much of that in he paranormal today.
BUT...
If you look in the dark long enough you can see all kinds of shapes and things that go bump. It's very easy for an active imagination to turn it into something it may not be. For a spirit to materialize take an awful lot of energy. I don't know if they have enough to change into a spider too. I mean, what would be the point?

sounds like a shadow man experience. Check out shadowmen on wikipedia.com and you will see.
I have not heard of anyone seeing shadowmen with white headbands or cigarettes however.

I gotta ask, is she seeing him regularly? Is it happening while she is in bed?
Anything that happens in bed could possibly be vivid hallucinations, or dreams. There are all kinds of weird hallucinagenic states that the mind can get into when you are waking up or going to sleep. Not all dreams seem like dreams, and sometimes dreams happen when you are awake. You might want to check out sleep paralysis and narcilepsy also.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Who's house? theirs? if that then it could be that someone is sending a curse on her or the house.
Look around the area where she sees this happening and see if some peculiar object(s) are there or if the ground has been disturbed there.
Someone might have burried something around the house to cause this.
How old is your friends' daughter? If she is young she can be seeing a representation of what it is or background of the source of the manifestation.

It is interesting and disturbing. Be cautious and if you find anything, destroy it, break it, burn it,pour Holy water on it. And pray as you are doing it.

She may be having delusions / schizophrenic or hallucinating. Paranormal activity is not the first thing to consider, since it's never been proven as valid. Searching for answers in the realm of the paranormal in lieu of psychological testing/treatment would be a mistake.

James Randi has offered $1 Million to anybody who can prove the existence of any supernatural being or ability, and nobody has even come close to winning the prize.

Strange but kids do have crazy imaginations. It could be just something she came up with to mess with you. Kids now adays are smarter and with everythhing the media has out there such ideas are more readily available or provide inspiration. Try to see it with her one day... if its not stated as above perhaps you should look into the history of the house. Supernaturally childern have been said to posses a high awareness of things of that sort.
