It seems that truth has become an endangered species with no guarantee of protection. As the years of our lives pass and the wonder and fantasy of youth wane, the ever-increasing demand of the mind is for the true. Aristotle was right when he opined that all philosophy begins with wonder; but the journey, may I suggest, can only progress through truth. Jesus said it succinctly—“everything earthly will pass away”—but His truth will abide forever. Do you know Him, the quintessential combination of wonder and truth?

Only when it points out how misinformed one is or how decisions made were so wrong. There may not be physical hurt but one's ego, feelings, or sanity make take a beating when an inconvenient truth is revealed.

Not to anyone rational or sensible.
It only hurts those so wrapped up in their personal opinions that anything which contradicts those opinions is seen as a personal attack.
But for anyone who is comfortable with themself -- not a problem, because true self-confidence includes the ability to re-consider your opinions in the light of new information.
