I have a 1992 S-10 Blazer 4x4 4.3L vortec, auto. First it started running rough and stalling, now it won't start or starts and runs for a minute then quits. I have confirmed that the fuel pump is good, new fuel filter, plugs/wires/cap&rotor. I am getting 53lbs fuel pressure, all ignition parts working. Problem is, Chevy, in their great wisdom, put the fuel pressure regulator and the EGR valve inside the intake manifold!
My question is-what are the symptoms of a bad fuel pressure regulator and what are the symptoms of a bad EGR valve???

The egr valve stuck open can make it stall and run bad.
If the fuel regualtor is leaking, it won`t hold your 53 lbs of fuel pressure and the regulator is bad and you may smell fuel. A bad regulator will make it hard to start and run bad.

Also your motor is known for having problems with the spider, (the injectors). Take the top of the phlem off to see if it is wet. If wet then something is wrong with the injectors or fuel regulator.
