That would depend on the 10 year old. If they can differentiate between a game and reality then sure, but if they have a difficult time with that I would say no. It is a boring game anyways so you would be wasting your money if you buy this game. I have a 15 year old 11th grade son in public school with a high GPA that plays games like this and i can say he is not influenced by the violent games that they sell these days. REMEMBER...... IT'S NOT THE GAMES IT'S THE PEOPLE WHO MISINTERPRET THE GAMES

I guess it depends how mature this 10 yr old is....And what type of parent you are. They might pickup bad language from this mature rated game. And there are wayyyyy to many little kids cursing out there own parents and others. I'm 20 and I dont even use foul language!!!
